Carmello’s Restaurant, established in 1987 by Bill and Stella Hedges, had its beginnings in Manassas, Virginia. Following five years of flourishing success in Manassas, Carmello’s relocated to Charlottesville, Virginia, situating itself across from the John Paul Jones Arena. Instantly, it became a sought-after destination for lovers of Northern Italian Cuisine. Whether you’re planning a romantic date, a wedding rehearsal dinner, a business meeting, or simply craving authentic Italian cuisine, Carmello’s Restaurant is the ideal choice.
In 2013, Carmello’s underwent a transformation, moving to its current location at 400 Twenty-Ninth Place Court and adopting the new name, Carmello’s Restaurant & Wine Bar. Today, Bill has retired from the business, and Stella serves as both the chef and the overseer of day-to-day operations. We invite you to experience Carmello’s for yourself and discover why it earned the accolade of being a “Jewel worth the Journey,” as recognized by the Washington Post.
